MARKUS
I lurched up from beneath the covers, my body soaking with sweat and my clothes clinging to me. Glancing at the alarm clock, I noted it was only a quarter to four in the morning. Wiping the sweat from my forehead, I took a deep breath to calm my nerves. I was really getting tired of these damn nightmares that forced me to relive my traumatic childhood over and over again.
UNIYAH
I stepped out of the shower and wrapped a towel around my hair then patted my body down with another. I headed towards my dresser to select a matching bra and panty set, then pryed the towel off of my head and combed my hair out. When I entered my living room, David’s full attention was on a basketball game. It looked like he helped himself to my alcohol. I hated when people went through my stuff without asking me.
BRANDON
Words couldn’t even express the way I was feeling. Never in my wildest dreams did I think that the man I was falling in love with, my best friend was falling in love with as well. I thought I would faint when Uniyah opened the door at the hospital and I walked towards the bed and, who I thought was the love of my life, laid before me unconscious. I never imagined that I would feel so betrayed or feel the pain that came from a broken heart again.
